Photos to get us though June Gloom

Normally in Southern California we refer to the early summer weather phenomena of that coastal marine layer fog that hangs around all day as ‘June Gloom’. For some of us the term June Gloom can have a deeper significance; the lull or dull drums as we anxiously await the upcoming Bird Season. Fishing season hasn’t quite kicked off, so to help distract us, I thought I would take a moment and post up some highlights from last years wacky season. Despite the relatively dry year we still managed to get out, chase some birds, and create some very memorable stories to tell in years to come. On a side note, reports from ranchers and fellow hunters, have confirmed that it looks like we have had at least on hatch of quail down south. In the following months we will be making routine trips down to keep guzzlers topped off and keen eye on how the coveys are shaping up. For now, I hope you enjoy some of the photos and look forward to seeing you in the field.
